Apparently some fans decided to make a remix of the old Sonic The Hedgehog games in HD. I guess they were tired of the utterly poor content of recent games. I wish more Sonic games would follow in their original vein, it's sad to see the franchise can only be revitalized by fans doing the programming. Well, check it out!

This looks pretty darn impressive. I'm wondering; do you know if they will be making this remake available perhaps? I'm sure Sega would probably endorse a rerelease via Xbox Live and Playstation Network.
Right now the game is programmed by independent developers, but I could possibly see a release from the big names if they pursued it. I believe there is a PC release available for download, I'll edit the post to include it.
